Eco Committee
Eco schools
At Cefn Fforest we are a Silver Award Eco School and we pride ourselves on the work we do to look after our school environment. We have an active Eco Committee who meet regularly to carryout reviews and set environmental targets to work towards for the year. This year one of our targets is to reduce the amount of rubbish we send to landfill. Our year 5 and 6 members of the eco committee were lucky enough to take part in Eco-Schools 30th birthday celebrations.
All pupils play an active part in looking after the school environment and have lessons linked to sustainable development and global citizenship throughout the year. We all have the opportunity to look after our allotment, our rabbits and our chickens during our outdoor learning time. We are really proud of recently planted orchard with apple, pear and plum tress. We are hoping to have our first harvest of pears and plums soon.
