Year 3/4- NK/CS

Welcome to Year 3/4KS

Welcome back to school! Thank you for all your patience and understanding as we adjust to our new routines. Your support has been much appreciated. We are really proud of how quickly the children have settled into their new class.

As you know, Mrs Kemp teaches the class on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and Mrs Sadler teaches on Thursday and Friday. After half term, Mrs Jayne-Willis be covering PPA on Tuesday mornings.

This term our topic is Extreme Earth!  We have worked together to think of ideas and questions that we would like to cover whilst learning about this topic. These questions will be used to plan what we would like to know about our topic and we have some fantastic ideas! We will be learning about natural disasters, such as earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanoes, around the world and also looking at how flooding has affected our local area. We will be learning about the water cycle and making our own rain gauges.

In RE, we will be learning about the Hindu festival Ganesh Charturi.

Class Information

PE is on Tuesdays. This will take place outdoors (weather permitting!) so children will need to come to school wearing suitable clothing and footwear.

Reading books will be changed on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please send books in to be changed regularly and leave a comment so we can see how your child is doing with their reading at home.

Homework will be set on Google Classroom and may involve tasks on MyMaths, Purple Mash, TTRockStars or Read Theory. Tasks will be set on a Friday to be completed by the following Friday. Please let us know if you have difficulties accessing any of the websites.

ClassDojo is up and running. This is our main platform for communicating important information and events so please make sure you check it regularly. Everyone has been given a code. If you are having difficulty logging onto Dojo, please let us know.
